Yerevan
Yerevan is the capital city of Armenia. It has been the capital city since 1918 and it is one of the world’s oldest inhabited city. This city is situated on the shores of river Hrazdan. This city acts as an administrative, cultural and an economic centre.
This city was established after World War I by the settlement of the survivors of the American genocide. This city for a very long time dint expands until the 20th century when Armenia became one of the members of Soviet Union.

The population estimate of Yerevan is about 1,093,000 people who represent about half of the total population of Armenia. This shows that most people in Armenia have migrated to the capital to seek employment.

Tourism in Armenia has kept on growing since the city was founded. The city itself is a major tourist attraction centre. This city has a majority of luxury hotels, modern restaurants, bars, pubs and clubs.
Many places in the city are attractive such as the dancing fountain of the Republic Square, the ruins of Urartian, the Opera House, the cascade complex and the historical site of Karmir Blur.
The location of the town is the major as visitors enjoy watching the view of the biblical mountain of Ararat. This city lies on the foot of this historical mountain.
The Yerevan zoo is also a good tourist attraction centre. Founded in 1940, the zoo is a home of more than 1500 different animals and over two hundred species.
The Waterworld is also a water park found in Yerevan. It has several pools, bars and restaurant. This is a serene place which has indoor and outdoor swimming facilities.
